Azuarc's level guide, Act 20: Terokkar Forest (64-65)

We are going to Terokkar, which is the zone that has the most interrelation with Shattrath. Which is still not a lot, but there are two quests to grab now, both from the northern end of Lower City. Get The Eyes of Skettis from Rilak the Redeemed, and then climb the treehouse nearby to pick up The Outcast's Plight.

You should have three total other quests, all delivery quests: one each to Cenarion Thicket, Allerian Stronghold, and Telaar. Telaar is in Nagrand, but we'll do the other two very soon.

Ride down the road, pausing briefly at Cenarion Thicket to talk to Earthbinder Tavgren, and then continue on toward Allerian. Go around or ride straight through Tuurem. When you arrive, pick up everything you can. Overall, your quest log should look like:

Don’t forget to grab the flight point or set your hearthstone.

Scene 1: The Big Opening Number (level 64)

There are three quests that are "in passing." Each of them can be done in Raastok Glade, just outside Allerian Stronghold. Stalk the area until you get your Warp Stalker kills, while trying to also get worg tails and olemba seeds. We can finish those other two later, though.

Travel northwest into the area south of Cenarion Thicket and hunt some more. This time, instead of Warp Stalkers, we're chasing Teromoths. (Unfortunately the Royal Teromoths in Raastok do not count for Strange Energy.) When you finally have your normal Teromoth Samples, head into Cenarion Thicket and get the vicious samples.

While you're in the Thicket, fight into the center of the inn and check out the strange object on the ground, and talk to Warden Treelos. Climb the tower nearby, and kill Naphthal'ar at the top for him. Complete his quest, and then Tavgren's out at the road. At some point in the near future, you will need to accost and fight Empoor along the road when you see him.

Circle around the thicket to the north, into Veil Reskk. There are three quests to partially do here. The first is a kill quest that doesn't need to get finished yet. The other two are up the rope ramp leading into the trees in the center of the village. On the first platform, you will fight Ashkaz, along with maybe one or two guards. On the second platform, you will find the Eye of Veil Reskk.

Ride back out to the road and travel east. Where the road goes up into the mountains, stay down below and follow the wall into Veil Shienor. In the second building along the wall, you will find Ayit. Kill him. Then circle around the large tree just to the south and look for an opening that leads to the top of the tree. On the connected platform, you will find the Eye of Veil Shienor.

Go back to the road to find Empoor if you haven't already, and then return to Allerian. Finish your olemba seeds and worg tails before the end of the next scene.

Quests completed: Magical Disturbances, It's Watching You!, Clues in the Thicket, Strange Energy, By Any Means Necessary, Thin the Flock, The Eyes of Skettis, Olemba Seeds, Timber Worg Tails

Scene 2: Veil Skith
(level 64)

Return to Rilak in Shattrath to complete his quest, and also speak with Wind Trader Lathrai. Then ride out of town and take the southern road into the Bone Wastes.

We have no business in the Bone Wastes themselves, but the other quest hub, the Refugee Caravan, has a task that goes along with our other Veil Skith quests. Two, actually. Talk to Kirrik, and then talk to little Ethan afterwards.

From there, ride north and a hair west into Veil Skith. Kill stuff. Collect keys. Open cages. Purify Darkstones. Slay Urdak.

Return to the Caravan, then to Shattrath, and finally Allerian to turn things in.

Quests completed: Wind Trader Lathrai, Seek Out Kirrik, Veil Skith: Darkstone of Terokk, Missing Friends, A Personal Favor, What Are These Things?, Stymying the Arrakoa, The Outcast's Plight (maybe)

Scene 3: Tuurem (level 64)

Ride up the road into Tuurem. There are a bunch of Draenei Vessels all over, and you need to pick eight up. Sounds simple until you find out that about two-thirds of them explode instead. The trick is to just clear an area and wait for them to respawn since they come back faster than the mobs. Make a circuit of 4 or 5 boxes until you finish, and then go to the northeast corner of Tuurem and enter the house with the Firewing Courier. Grab the box next to him and take it to Warden Tavgren.

Return to Allerian.

Quests completed: Investigate Tuuren, What Are These Things?, Vessels of Power

Scene 4: Chewing Bones (level 64)

Across the eastern river from Allerian Stronghold is the Bonechewer Ruins. And all their little peons are hard at work outside slaving away on arduous tasks. Put 12 of them out of their misery, and then head northeast to Allerian Post along the southern banks of the river.

Return to the ruins, and fight your way inside this time. Kill the liaison inside the fortress, and a bunch of other orcs besides, and then head back to Theoloria Shadecloak.

Cross the river north, go around Firewing Point, and hunt around for a dark-colored worg named Ironjaw. Kill him, and then fight around Firewing Point. Be very careful around the Mana Burn Elves unless you're a rogue or warrior – they drained about 1200 mana with every fight, which is just hideous for low mana classes like hunters, but there is absolutely nothing at all you can do about it. (Well, unless you can fear lock them the entire fight.) Return to Allerian Post to get the new quest, The Final Code.

It would make logical sense to do The Final Code now, so I'm going to describe it, but I do not necessarily recommend doing it now solo. The large building with the spire has a cage inside it, with a Night Elf inside. Ignore it and go up the ramp to the translocater. Kill a couple mobs and then Sharth Voldoun. Sharth ought to be marked elite, because he takes a ton of damage, hits moderately hard, is immune to crowd control effects, and heals himself repeatedly at low health. Not an easy fight for some classes. Anyway, take the transporter back down, go to the center of the area, and detonate the mana bomb. After you do that, go back into the spire and talk to the druid in the cage, and escort her out. (Many of the elves in your way will be dead after detonating the bomb, which is why we do this after.)

Quests completed: Unruly Neighbors, Report to Allerian Outpost, Thinning the Ranks, The Firewing Liaison, The Elusive Ironjaw, Attack on Firewing Point, The Final Code (maybe), Escort From Firewing Point (maybe), Letting Earthbinder Tavgren Know (maybe)

Scene 5: Grangolvar Village (level 64/65)

Leave Allerian north and turn west at Tuurem and follow the southern mountains. You will eventually see a path leading into a town of some sort, and Private Weeks should be nearby behind a tree. Talk to him, and then enter Grangolvar Village and find the three people you need to talk to. The Laborer wanders around the area by the entrance, the Initiate is next to the water casting some kind of magical incantation, and the Advisor is inside the barracks. Avoid hunters, who are part of the two-man patrols that are all over this place.

Return to Private Weeks and he'll send you back in to kill. Be very leery of patrols. This place is crawling, and the respawn is high enough to punish you for falling behind. You'll probably finish your executioners well ahead of your summoners, (whose bright idea was it to require 10 of each?) but go for the big man in the barracks first, and then deal with your leftover summoners.

Head back to Allerian to complete the quest.

Quests completed: Report to Private Weeks, Who Are They?, Kill the Shadow Council!

Scene 6: Enter Auchindoun (level 65)

At this point everything remaining in Terokkar will be in the Bone Wastes, which is a fairly wretched area full of wandering patrols and annoying quests. Because of this, you're going to get a brief taste of the area, and then move on to the next zone. All the quests here are above level 63, so they will not go gray even at level 70. There is the distinct possibility you will return before 70, but for now, we're going to just do a little bit and leave the rest.

From Allerian, head west out of the southern exit, killing Bonelashers along the way. Stop off at Carrion Hill to complete this task, and then finish the trek to the Ravaged Caravan.

The Bone Wastes are a large circular area centered around the ruins of Auchindoun, an ancient Draenei tomb. From the Refugee Caravan (which is effectively at the end of the road south out of Shattrath,) travel due south into the opening in the outer wall of Auchindoun and kill the cultists there.

After exiting, circle the outer wall of Auchindoun for a tunnel leading downward. (There are four of these.) Inside you will find the Ring of Observance, which leads to the four wings of Auchindoun.
North: Mana-Tombs, doable now, quests are all outside instance
East: Sethekk Halls, ideal level is 67, quests are also outside instance
South: Shadow Labyrinth, level 70 and locked until you run Sethekk
West: Auchenai Crypts, doable now, lone quest is part of an extended chain

Try to get a group for any of these instances other than Shadow Labs at any point. You may want to wait til 66 for Sethekk, but you can certainly work on Mana-Tombs and/or Crypts. This is just your prompt to start looking for Auchindoun groups. In the meanwhile, head back to the Refugee Caravan and Allerian to complete quests, so we can move on to Nagrand.

Quests completed: Before Darkness Falls, Cabal Orders, Wanted: Bonelashers Dead

Scene 7: Nagrand (level 65)

Rather than questing in Desolace again, let's head some place a little more…serene. Nagrand is a beautifully lush zone that only really suffers from many of its quests being excessively high kill counts. The zone ranges from level 64 to 68, so it's our next stop. Abandon your quests in Terokkar. Other than Torgos, they should all be from the same place, and easy to resume.

From Shattrath, travel north into Zangarmarsh, a little west, and then south again. There are four different routes into Nagrand, but this is where we will start. FYI, you may occasionally get Oshu'gun Crystal Sample from mobs in this zone. That's usable in the central PvP area, Halaa. Also, if you see a Wild Elekk, kill those too and hold onto the tusks, which another faction will want. Both these items are just things to save for later when you understand what they're for.

Here's the map:

As you enter, you should immediately find Nesingwary's Expedition. (Remember him from Stranglethorn?) Grab the three quests, and travel westward along the northern mountains, avoiding elementals and killing windrocs. Stay north of the road. You are rather near a Horde town, and the guards ride out along the road, so keep out of their sight. As you approach this town, Garadar, you will also come to a lake. Cross it carefully – there are water elementals below – and get the quests from the Throne of the Elements.

Now that you should have 6 quests for the zone, retrace your steps across the lake and fight along the eastern side of the zone to complete the three mastery quests. You can range out a fair bit, and you should to find the clefthooves you need, but don't enter any actual points of interest. You should find Tortured Earth Spirits in some areas as well, so finish off 15 of those for The Tortured Earth.

Once you have those quests done…take a break! You just killed 105 quest mobs. But the next scene picks up right where we leave off here.

Quests completed: The Underneath, Windroc Mastery 1, Talbuk Mastery 1, Clefthoof Mastery 1, The Tortured Earth

Scene 8: Endangering the Species (level 65)

Return to Nesingwary and, surprise surprise, he ups the ante with an otherwise identical quest. Hurray for the slaying of 90 more innocent creatures.

Go back to the Throne of the Elements to talk to Gordawg, and then head west to kill the second type of Talbuk and pick up the piles of dung on the ground. (Yay!) Along the northern edge of the mountains, you should also find Enraged Crushers. Head back to the Throne once the dung and crusher quests are done. This will lead to a quest in the lake. Do that as well.

When you are finished, swim across the lake and take one of the roads down into Telaar just to get the flight point. The flight master is on a ramp around the side of the inn.

Quests completed: A Rare Bean, Eating Damnation, Agitated Spirits of Skysong, Talbuk Mastery 2
Flight points: Telaar (Nagrand)

Smoke 'em If You Got 'em (level 65/66)

Pick up all the quests you can in Telaar. At 65, you should have the following quest log:

  • Blessings of Incineratus
  • Do My Eyes Deceive Me
  • Muck Diving
  • Talbuk Mastery 2 or 3
  • The Throne of the Elements
  • Wanted: Giselda the Crone (signpost)
  • Wanted: Zorbo the Advisor (signpost)
  • Clefthoof Mastery 2
  • Fierce Enemies
  • Murkblood Corruptors
  • Shattering the Veil
  • Solving the Problem
  • Stopping the Spread

  • Windroc Mastery 2
  • The Ravaged Caravan (requires Kurenai friendly)
  • He Called Himself Altruis… (requires 66)

Also, don't forget to be looking for Auchindoun groups. Although we are going to officially start on Nagrand now, shooting for level 66 first is not a bad idea.

  • The Eyes of Skettis
  • Thin the Flock
  • Clues in the Thicket
  • Olemba Seeds
  • Strange Energy
  • Unruly Neighbors
  • Magical Disturbances
  • Speak With Private Weeks
  • Stymying the Arrakoa
  • Timber Worg Tails
  • The Outcast's Plight
  • Wanted: Bonelasher's Dead
And there was also one other quest at Cenarion Thicket if you explored inside.
