In Act 20, we cleaned out the northern half of Terokkar before moving into Nagrand for Act 21 and completing that entire zone. Now we stage our return to Terokkar. When Wrath of the Lich King is released, you may consider skipping this act entirely, since we will not be as concerned with hitting 70 and leaving quests in zones for money.
Act 1: Do We Have To? (level 67)
Head on back to the Refugee Caravan and pick up the quests there that we left behind. Then travel southwest to the corner of the Bone Wastes and the Sha'tari Base Camp, where you will find more quests to work on. Get the one from the dwarf last, since it will begin an escort.
Altogether, you will have:
Take the escort, and be mindful of good escort etiquette. Stay away from creatures and wait for your charges to be attacked. If you do this, the quest is incredibly easy, and certainly does not need to be done in a group. When the dwarves get to the spot where they stop, listen to the dialogue, and then kill the sand crawler that spawns in the end. Easy.
Head straight north from there into Veil Rhaze. Fight around the area carefully, and then go a few steps to the northeast and the Shadow Tomb. There are three items to be found in the Shadow Tomb, all in chests. Get the two in the side wings first before going forward. In the center area, there is an escort quest. Get your last chest item first in the back, and wait for respawn before starting the quest or you risk getting run over. This quest is doable soloable, but not comfortably.
Return to the Refugee Caravan.
Quests completed: Digging Through Bones, Veil Rhaze: Unliving Evil, The Shadow Tomb, Escaping the Tomb
Scene 2: Spiders (level 67)
Travel to the far southeast corner of the Wastes. You will have to battle your way past a few choice opponents to get there. You will find Vindicator Haylen at (49, 76). Get his quest, and then poke around to the southeast. Initially there are the infested trees and the huge protectors. Killing those will spawn little bugs all around. Tab-target them and kill them to finish The Infested Protectors. Then go into spider territory in the corner.
Patience is a virtue. You have two quests to complete. One is to kill 20 spiders. The other is to rescue webbed Draenei. You will encounter a LOT of webs that are not Draenei, and spawn an enemy instead. As a result, you will want to focus on finding webs, and also only open them if you can do so safely. You can open them from ranged and not aggro the mob that spawns if there is one. If you've got some friends with you, turn in the kill quest as soon as you get it done and set up for Terokkantula. The super spider is in the extreme back corner. (How many times can I continue to say go to the corner?) Either way, hang out til you finish the webbed dudes. Six is a nuisance, but you'll get it eventually.
Start riding west toward Sha'tari Outpost. When you are south of the eastern edge of Auchindoun, look for an abandoned caravan with a treasure chest on the ground. Cautiously approach the chest, since there are invisible enemies, and then loot the chest AND RUN AWAY. Unless you're a mage, you don't want to mess with the 30 zombies that spawn, but fortunately they aren't very fast.
After you get free, continue your trip to the Outpost, and stop once more when you are south of the WEST end of Auchindoun. In this area, there are a lot of vindicators fighting cultists, and many corpses on the ground as well. Target corpses you find and use your torch to burn them before the cultists can steal their souls. You do not need to fight anything for this quest.
Upon completion, get to the Outpost and complete this stuff.
Quests completed: Taken in the Night, For the Fallen, Terokkantula (maybe), The Dread Relic, An Improper Burial
Scene 3: Fumping (level 67)
This will be a quick scene of two loose items to take care of.
Step outside the outpost -- until the map says Bone Wastes -- and use your drum. Fumping is a tedious quest, because you need to kill 8 crawlers, but most of the time you get a spawn of sand gnomes in multiple. You can do this quest anywhere in the wastes, but it's important to pick a place where you are unlikely to get aggro from other targets. Finish this quest as soon as convenient.
Item #2: from the Outpost, head west and a little north into Veil Lithic. There are nests in Veil Lithic, and your goal is to crack some eggs. You do not need to deal with the arrakoa except when they are in your way. Some of the eggs will free Redeemed Hatchlings, and some will spawn Malevolent Hatchlings that attack you. Three of each, and then back to the Refugee Caravan.
Quests completed: Fumping, Veil Lithic: Preemptive Strike
Scene 4: Tomb of Bonelashers (level 67)
In Act 20, you should have done a quest from Allerian called "Wanted: Bonelashers Dead." If by some chance you missed it, go run over and grab it. There's a follow-up that's also not terribly hard, but is yet another group-required quest, and so we're going to skip it. ("Torgos!")
Either way, head east of the Caravan, (southwest of Allerian,) to the Tomb of Lights. If you've got some friends, head inside. Otherwise, stay on the surface and work around the outside. There is a group quest inside the tomb, in the far back, that can be completed. It starts summoning waves of Draenei ghosts you need to fend off, and will be more than one person can keep up with. Decent rewards, so you may want to look for the assistance for the Vengeful Harbinger.
Back to the caravan afterwards, or you can go right into the next scene.
Quests completed: The Tomb of Lights, The Vengeful Harbinger (maybe)
Scene 5: Veil Shalas (level 67)
Outside the entrance to Veil Shalas in the southeast is Skywing. He starts an escort quest that is, like many other quests we've seen recently, something you'll do only if you have a group. If you follow Skywing, he will lead you up into Veil Shalas, over the treetop platforms, to a final spot where a boss fight occurs. (Note that there are two entrances to Veil Shalas – Skywing is only in front of the southern one.)
Your primary goal in Veil Shalas is the four signal fires. If you take the route that Skywing does, you will head up the ramp into the Veil, and into a tree that has a ramp inside it leading up. At the top of this tree is the Bloodstone signal fire. Across the ramp, Skywing will circle the next platform where the Violet signal fire is, and then jump off the side to the platform below to the south. Might as well.
Crossing the rope bridge to the next platform will find you fighting the boss of the Skywing quest, but it will also lead to the Emerald signal fire. Whether you're working on Skywing or not, now you've only got one fire to go!
The last fire is a bit trickier to get to. Hop down to the ground and fight toward the north end of Veil Shalas, past the other entrance. At this end of the bird grove, there will only be one route up into the trees. Take it, and follow the platforms from there. The final signal fire is on the lower floor of the two-story...er...tree.
That finishes the signal fires, but while you're in this neck of the woods, two group quests you might think about doing are Evil Draws Near and the Big Bone Worm.
Evil Draws Near is performed in the Writhing Mound, just west of Veil Shalas. Kill skeletons and you will eventually pick up the 20 Doom Skulls you need to summon Teribus the Cursed. (You might even have a few skulls already from killing random skeletons in the zone.) You'll want some teammates to actually kill Teribus, but he goes down easy.
Not nearly as easy is the Big Bone Worm. Head to the southern edge of the zone, just west of Netherweb Ridge. You'll find clefthooves in this area. Kill one, and then use your drum to attempt to summon the title character, Hai'shulud. It's possible you might get even more sand gnomes instead. Hai'shulud will not go down easily, and without a healer you might have a load of trouble with this guy. The recommended 3 players is not joking.
Save Skywing to turn in last out of these quests since you'll be going to Shattrath anyway.
Quests completed: Veil Shalas: Signal Fires, Skywing (maybe), Evil Draws Near (maybe), The Big Bone Worm (maybe)
Scene 6: Do You Feel Lucky, Punk? -- optional (level 67/68)
Go to Shattrath. In the center of the city, you should find Ezekiel circling the Terrace of Light. If you don't have "What Book? I Don't See Any Book," get it from him now. Then head to the north end of Lower City. You will want to recruit some help for the two quests you are about to attempt, but occasionally nearby folks help.
The first quest is The Skettis Offensive, from the Arakkoa at the Lower City entrance. You will need to defend yourself from several waves of kaliri attacks, and finally one big boss kaliri at the end. The other is to approach Dirty Larry about What Book. After doing battle with Larry and his friends, (think of the scripted fights in The Missing Diplomat,) he will send you out the the Abandoned Armory in Nagrand where you can collect a few items for Nitrin the Learned. Following this, you will be able to tackle Levixus the Soul Caller in the next scene.
Quests completed: The Skettis Offensive, What Book? I Don't See Any Book, The Master's Grand Design?, Vision of the Dead
Scene 7: Outskirts of Auchindoun (level 67/68)
We're about ready to wrap up in Terokkar finally. You should have one quest you recently acquired from the Refugee Caravan, Recover the Bones. It would have been nice if we could have had that, oh, any time before now. However, you were probably wondering what the little white glowing things around the Bone Wastes were, and now you get to pick 10 of them up. Do this immediately, and head inside Auchindoun to complete the quest with Ramdor the Mad outside the Crypts entrance.
Go back up to the surface, and work on the broken skeletons and lost spirits for the follow-up, Helping the Lost Find Their Way. When you have this finished, head just inside the outer ring of Auchindoun, in the direction of Sha'tari Base Camp. There you will find various cultists that are for A Hero Is Needed. Kill them, and return to the camp to complete the quest. Then head back into the ring and go north to about the 9:00 position to complete The Fallen Exarch by killing the four cultists around the coffin, and then the Reanimated Exarch that emerges.
If you completed Scene 6, go to the 6:00 position in the outer ring. You will need friends to be able to kill Levixus the Soul Caller, and be wary of the fact that he mind controls. Whether you complete this quest or not, head down to Ramdor and over to Sha'tari Base Camp to finish your other quests (and out to Tanaris for that one.)
Quests completed: Recover the Bones, A Hero is Needed, Helping the Lost Find Their Way, The Fallen Exarch, Levixus the Soul Caller (maybe)
Scene 8: Preparations (optional) (level 67/68)
The guide will head into Blade's Edge Mountains for the next act. It would be nice to be able to get started on attunement for Karazhan, but the quests for that aren't available until 68, which should say a *little* something about how easy they are to do. (They aren't really that bad.) We'll hit those up right around when we hit 70. However, one other option that did become available at 66 is Caverns of Time.
See if you can get a group for the first Caverns of Time instance, Old Hillsbrad Foothills. (Also sometimes called Escape from Durnholde Keep.) The goal of the instance is simple: after talking to the Keepers of Time, which takes about 15 minutes, you want to head into the instance and create a diversion in the internment camps so you can rescue Thrall from the prison in the basement of the main building. The escort that ensues is often tricky, so make sure you put together a competent group.
Quests completed: The Caverns of Time, Old Hillsbrad, Taretha's Diversion, Escape from Durnholde, Return to Andormu
Scene 9: Continuing the March (level 68)
There are three Caverns of Time instances. Old Hillsbrad is the only one available until you complete it. Then The Black Morass becomes available. You are welcome to run BM if you like, but you will need to later on in the Karazhan quest chain, so for the time being we are simply unlocking that zone for the future. Black Morass is a very challenging instance, and is often best left to running out of necessity.
As a result, that makes it time to head to one of the three remaining zones in Outland. Blade's Edge Mountains is the obvious choice. Although this zone is made much more accessible once you have a flying mount at level 70, the other two zones (Netherstorm and Shadowmoon Valley) are just starting to be available at 67 and can be incredibly frustrating.
So travel to Orebor Harborage, and get the quest from Tim the Specialist before heading north through the pass above the settlement. You'll pass through a tunnel full of spiders and a number of other hostiles on the way to the Night Elf town of Sylvanaar. (There is a quest to kill 6 cave spiders as well, which you should do along the way.)
Quests completed: No Time For Curiosity, Kill the Crawlers
Blade's Edge Mountains
There are two other settlements in Blade's Edge, but Sylvanaar is the best place to start. At level 68, most of these quests should go by extremely easily, so pick up all the quests and get set to steamroll. This zone by itself has the potential to take us the rest of the way to 70 without any additional help, and there's a few other places we can go before even touching Netherstorm or Shadowmoon Valley.
