Ok guys this is pretty sweet. Major mana potion recipe's are kind of a pain to get. It is a 6% drop off of Darkmaster Gandling in scholomance (And BoP), or you can complete a series of quests in Scholomance and then buy it from a vendor outside scholomance after completing the quest. I have always wanted to have my alchemist alt be able to make major mana potions for my main, but was never able to because he is level 31. That is - he was never able to untill today!

I happened upon this strategy that will allow any horde alt to get a major mana potion recipe very easily, and for only 3 gold. :)

Essentially the strategy is this - There is a guy in Senjin village that gives you a buff similar to the buff you recieve when completing the quest chain to get the major mana potion recipe. You must simply go to Senjin village, (a level 6 horde starting area), get the buff from the witchdoctor, then get to scholomance before the buff runs out and you can buy the recipe for 3gold. Note: The hard thing is - the buff is only a 5 minute buff. :)

Here is a complete list on things to do in order to get to scholomance in less than 5 minutes:

(1) Bind at Tauren Mill
(2) Fly to Sen'jin village, south of Orgrimmar
(3) Do the Zalazane quest
(4) Talk to the troll in Sen'jin village that gives you random voodoo enchantments (he is the witchdoctor)
(5) Keep talking to him and getting random enchantments until you get the 5 minute buff that makes your whole screen look fuzzy (drunk effect) and you see dancing hallucinations. The buff name is "special brew".
(6) Hearth to Tauren Mill
(7) Run up the river to scholomance (no hostile mobs along the way that would hinder you)
(8) Find the ghost that sells the recipe and buy it for 3 gold.

When you enter scholomance, you will want to go over the bridge, then go through the city gate (the archway), then take a hard left, and enter the first house on the left. The vendor will be a ghost in the middle of that house.

NOTE: It is extremely difficult to get to the vendor in time if you are low level. I did this on my level 31 mage, used 3 swiftness potions, always blinking every 20 seconds, the first time, I made it to the vendor with 3 seconds to spare and wasnt able to buy the recipe's. The second time, i made it with about 15 seconds to spare and bought the Major Mana pot recipe, as well as the recipe for transmute water to air (1.5g, also available on the vendor so i figured what the heck!).

It is my belief that a level 30ish+ mage, shaman, possibly hunter can get to scholo without help by using their speed abilities and swiftness pots. (Mage = blink, shaman = ghost wolf, hunter = aspect of hawk?). If your alt is lower level than that, he can still get the recipe, but you will need to have a warlock friend go sit in the scholomance city and summon you there after you have the buff from the troll in senjin village.

For anyone above level 40, just use your mount and run up the river and you should have about 45 seconds to spare.

Also note - I believe this is only able to be done by horde. (You must talk to the guy in senjin village to get the buff - Unfortunately i dont know of any alliance npc that gives this buff).

Well that was my first post after lurking in this great forum for a year. I am never really on the bleeding edge of a new exploit, So i never really had anything to post before. I just happened accross this nice little exploit a few days ago and decided I had to share it! Ironically, I found this strategy out from thottbot of all places, so get in on it quick because it is very likely to be nerfed once Blizzard finds out (if they havent already).
