Following up on my guide Leveling 20-30 FOR THE HORDE! (read it here http://www.multiplayerstrategies.com/ms/index.cfm?page=topic&topicID=33986&categoryid=20&forumid=63) is my long overdue description of grinding 30-40 using questing.

Part one, Getting from 30-35:
So you have hopefully followed the instructions in the previous guide and gotten your flight paths and quests done like a good lil horde. If you haven’t done those quests, then I recommend peeking in at those areas and seeing if there is anything left. This guide is a general explanation of where to pickup quests. For details on how to complete quests, use www.thotbot.com.

At 30 you are chomping at the bit to level—halfway to 60 and 10 extremely long levels before your mount. Before you can move up, there is some running to do. You need to pick up 4 flight paths to set yourself up for success.

Descolace 30-31: From Stonetalon Mountains go south into Desolace. In the south western corner is a flight path for horde. Now I’ve never personally quested here but if you go to the Kodo graveyard (in the middle of the map) there are some quests to pick up and grind out. This is a really quite area and you could spend a level or 2 without getting ganked. Nice alternative for some of the other places you’ll go during this level range. For now all you care about is your flight path and a quest to talk to Hunter Nessing in Stranglethorn Grove.

Arathi Basin (Hammerfall) 31-33: Get to Undercity. Next to the flight guy is a quest giver to kill some guys at a farm in Arathi. Pick up that quest. Fly to Tarren Mill. Somewhere here is a quest to kill orges in Arathi Basin. Get on the road and head east. Once you enter the Arathi Basin zone veer to the North and you’ll run into a cave full of orges. Kill the orges and then keep heading north to the mountains. Follow the mountains to east to Hammerfall (this is the safest route). Along the way is a crystal to click which gives you a quest to kill some rat like creatures to the east of Hammerfall. Once you get to hammerfall turn in the orge quest and you’ll find there are several kill quests: winterbark trolls, dinosaurs, collecting something from a farm. Pick up these quests and off you go. Let me warn you, the drop rate in Hammefall is really low for collection quests so there is a long bit of grinding. The good news is when you get 40 the first aid quest is right in this city.

Strangelthorn Vale 33-36: Well it is time to learn (if you are on PVP server) all about ganking. Take the blimp from Grom Gol and pick up the flight path. If you don’t have the Booty Bay flight path, get to Ratchet and take the boat to Booty Bay. Check all the buildings for quests: leatherworker wants you to kill crocs and the inn has some money making ideas and needs your help. If you went to shimmering flats then you have a quest to turn in at Booty Bay any way. Pick up your flight path at the top of the inn. Now back to Grom Gol for the questing.

Hang on--you have an elite quest to pick up a tablet in the vile reef? This is actually soloable. Look up the quest on thotbot.com for the location swim down click the tablet and there is a quick bit of exp for you.

Don’t forget to shout out “Anyone for questing?” in this zone because being alone is like being a deer in a forest full of hungry wolves. . .and you will get pulverized quick if you are by yourself. This is a madhouse of Alliance and Horde running the same quests at the same time competing for kills. If you kill a member of the opposing faction, they will usually gather friends to kill you back—so you find some buddies to return the favor. It can be very distracting.

Head North out of grom gol along the beach til you get to the first troll camp. Turn right and head into the forest til you reach the river. You should see Nessing’s camp to the right. Go there and pick up all the quests except for the book quests (collect pages). Now you should have at least 3 quests to kill trolls (ears, tusks, and necklaces) and 3 quests to kill monsters (raptors, young panthers, young tigers).

Young panthers are south, across the bridge. Young tigers are around nessing’s camp. Take those out first. Turn in the quest. Slightly to the north and west is a plateau with the regular panthers, regular tigers, regular raptors. In addition there are some trolls up here—kill those as you go to get that collection done. Once you’ve killed the animals turn in those quests and get the next set of quests (elder tigers, shadow panthers, lashtail raptors). The elder tigers are west of Nessing’s camp further in from the young tigers and south of the plateau you were on earlier. Kill em and turn it in for the final quest in that series. If you haven’t finished the troll ears, get it done and turn it in and you’ll pick up a quest to kill lashtail raptors. Kill those raptors and turn those quests in for double credit.

You still have a bunch of quests in your log. Look up how to do them and go after it. Thotbot will warn you about the quests that are a waste of time. Focus on kill quests (kill x number of y) rather than collection quest (bring me X number of Y).
