My Shaman PvP build, after going back through this again today and making a
few point tweaks, I believe this will be the best PvP peep in the game.(After
they nerf pallys LOL) I don't use spells or totems much at all, unless there is
a real need for it, and for mobs at my level,(and most PC's also) it is not
needed. Don't get me wrong I use lightning to pull, but after I have the agro I
like to run in there and just whack away. Being that my Shaman is an Orc, I have
him with an axe for the added racial bonus, and with the "Orc grunts" he makes
when getting hit, It almost makes me feel like Arnold with a minigun in the
movie Predator.(Not sure if Arnold actually had the minigun but I know someone
did.) If you play close attention to the build you can kind of see where I added
allot of +% to crit like I did my Warrior, with RockBiter as a buff, I seem to
crit allot, and that is where this build is geared toward. My only regret is not
having 3 more points to add to the RockBiter buff in Enhancements, nothing I
could do, cry... Maybe in a future expansion they will up the lvl cap,(that is
why I think Bliz left it fast to level, to open up the lvl 70, in an expansion)
If and when they do my first 3 talent points will be put in that RockBiter buff.
Elemental Combat Talents (31 points)
Concussion - 5/5 points
Increases the damage done by your Shock spells by 5%. Had to "waste" these
points to get Reverberation, 5 points for 5% is a waste in my opinion.(Would
have rather had it give 5% added chance to crit lol)
Convection - 5/5 points
Reduces the Mana cost of your Shock spells by 10%. This does help a little but
this is the second set of 5 points to spend to get Reverberation.
Call of Flame - 5/5 points
Increases the damage done by your Fire Totems by 10%. If I do use damage totems,
fire totems are it, so "10% to all" helps.
Elemental Focus - 1/1 point
Gives you a 10% chance to enter a Clearcasting state after casting any Fire,
Frost, or Nature damage spell. The Clearcasting state reduces the mana cost of
your next damage spell by 100%. Awesome talent here, this is common with a few
other classes such as Mage, you hear a little "chink", when this ability
activates and you know to click the largest cost mana spell next, because it is
free :)
Call of Thunder - 5/5 points
Increases the critical strike chance of your Lightning spells by 6% You must
waste these points here to get Elemental Fury and Mastery..
Reverberation - 5/5 points
Reduces the cooldown of your Shock spells by 1 second. This is what I spent the
15 points to get, 1 sec might not seem like allot but it is that much sooner to
cast Shock to interrupt that caster.
Improved Fire Nova Totem - 2/2 points
Reduces the delay before your Fire Nova Totem activates by 2 seconds. If you are
going to use the Fire Nova Totem, you must have this skill, as peeps will have 4
seconds to whack it if you do not. Only having 2 seconds to switch to the totem
and actually whack it makes this skill awesome.
Improved Magma Totem - 1/2 point
Reduces the Mana cost of your Magma Totem by 10%. Honestly needed to place a
point somewhere and here is where it went LOL.
Elemental Fury - 1/1 point
Increases the critical strike damage done by your Fire, Frost, and Nature spells
by 100%. Here it is, the cream of the whole tree, this goes hand-in-hand with
the next skill, this increases the crit damage 100%.
Elemental Mastery - 1/1 point
When activated, this spell gives your next Fire, Frost, or Nature damage spell a
100% critical strike chance. And this skill guarantees the crit!
Enhancement Talents (20 points)
Shield Specialization - 5/5 points
Increases your chance to block attacks with a shield by 5%. I am not 2H, but if
I change any character to a 2H peep the shaman will be it, only reason I went
Shield is for stat adds, but I want to see how this character handles PvP at
higher levels before making the switch.
Improved Lightning Shield - 3/3 points
Increases the damage done by your Lightning Shield orbs by 15%. In my opinion,
the damage Lightning shield does is a little overpowered, but I don't make the
rules, I just play the game, so lets give it some more damage.
Thundering Strikes - 5/5 points
Improves your chance to get a critical strike with your weapon attacks by 5%.
This goes right along with Flurry raising crit 1% per point is the norm in most
melee classes.
Improved Stoneskin Totem - 2/3 points
Increases the amount of damage absorbed by your Stoneskin Totem by 14%. I really
had a hard time with this, since I don't use this totem that much, however when
things tend to hit the fan, and I am fighting a tank,(tank = low damage - high
hit points) this helps to gimp their damage output that much more, since this
totem works on a "hard" damage reduction and not a % of it.
Flurry - 5/5 points
Increases your attack speed by 30% for your next 3 swings after dealing a
critical strike. Haste is always welcome to a melee class and having the skill
automatically activate without having to click on a button always helps.
