My Warrior is coming along all right I guess, I still think the class needs a
little love from Bliz though. If I remember the hero talents correctly, the 1H
Warrior gets allot of bonus to their defense, since I am 1H/shield, I did not
want to go "protection". That left fury and arms, after weighing both trees, I
decided to go arms, but of course MS just got nerfed, sigh... As of now I am
still 1H/shield, but may change this in the future, it just seems that there is
allot of skills in the talent trees that you could eliminate by going 2H, such
as anything dealing with shields and anything dealing with 1H melee skills. This
would definitely allow those talent points to be spent in allot more independent
way.
Arms Talents (33 points)
Deflection - 5/5 points
Increases your Parry chance by 5%. This will be taken by most 1H and 2H, an is
more of a "gimme" skill then anything else.
Improved Rend - 3/3 points
Increases the bleed damage done by your Rend ability by 35%. You won't see this
make much of a difference at the lower levels, the level 60 rend is only 147
damage, which might make this seem useless, but it does add to your DPS output,
even if only in a small way.
Improved Heroic Strike - 3/3 points
Reduces the cost of your Heroic Strike ability by 3 rage points. This here, will
allow you to get another 1, maybe 2 Heroic strikes in, before the end of a
combat.
Improved Charge - 2/2 points
Increases the rage generated by your Charge ability by 6. This skill is will
only be useful, if you plan on not being in defensive stance, as you can see now
where I am going with this template, build rage faster, make the cost of using
skills cheaper, which in the end makes available the use of allot more ability
usage.
Tactical Mastery - 5/5 points
You retain up to 25 of your rage points when you change stances. This was only
taken to get anger management.
Improved Overpower - 2/2 points
Increases the critical strike chance of your Overpower ability by 50%. For 2
points this is a must have, overpower is used when your target dodges, giving
you a 50% increase to your chance of a critical strike seems a little much...
Deep Wounds - 3/3 points
Your critical strikes cause the opponent to bleed, dealing 60% of your melee
weapon's average damage over 12 seconds. Hopefully this "stacks" because if so,
this will greatly increase DPS output, notice that I took both 5 point skills
that increase chance to crit. So for this warrior his chance to crit is a base
of 10% more then a base warrior.
Anger Management - 1/1 point
Increases the time required for your Rage to decay while out of combat by 30%. I
really wanted this to be a 3 point skill to lower decay 90%.(30% a point) That
may have made the Warrior a little more "balanced" with the other classes. The
problem is not building up rage to use you abilities, its that after you kill a
target, you have 20-30 rage left over, you run about "40 yards" towards your
target and you lose half... sigh... Lowering rage decay is probably the single
action Bliz can take to really give a boost to this class, to bring it up to PAR
with the other classes.
Impale - 2/2 points
Increases the critical strike damage done by your abilities in Battle,
Defensive, and Berserker stance by 20%. This is not chance to crit, but a damage
add to a crit, here is another place that seems gimped, spell casters spend 5
points to get a 100% damage increase to a crit, WTF is up with this 20%?
Axe Specialization - 5/5 points
Increases your chance to get a critical strike with Axes by 5%. Here is 5 of my
10 points to increase my crit chance 10%.
Sweeping Strikes - 1/1 point
You next 5 melee weapon swings strike an additional nearby opponent. Godly skill
here, 30 sec cooldown with a cost of 30 rage. This, combined with "cleave", can
give your group an advantage when fighting opposing casters.
Mortal Strike - 1/1 point
A vicious strike that deals 200% weapon damage and wounds the target, reducing
the effectiveness of any healing by 50% for 10 seconds. This has been nerfed(has
a fixed damage amount not a % add) and is not described correctly, although it
is still a very effective skill.
Fury Talents (5 points)
Cruelty - 5/5 points
Increases your chance to get a critical strike with melee weapons by 5%. The
second part of my 10% add to crit chance.
Protection Talents (13 points)
Shield Specialization - 5/5 points
Increases your chance to block attacks with a shield by 5%. Basic point per %
here, common in blocking, parrying, crit chance.
Improved Bloodrage - 2/2 points
Reduces the duration required to generate rage from your Bloodrage ability by 4
seconds. Still don't like the health drain in bloodrage, but to get the actual
rage quicker helps.(Need this to get Last stand)
Toughness - 5/5 points
Increases your armor value from items by 10%. many will say wasted skill points
here, but this is the best choice considering I had to place 10 points in
Protection to get last stand.
Last Stand - 1/1 point
When activated, this ability temporarily grants you 30% of your maximum hit
points for 20 seconds. After the effect expires, the hit points are lost.
Definitely an awesome skill to have to get those extra hit points when needed.
