After posting my Rogue build, another member posted a build using maces, so I
took a few hours yesterday and ran some numbers, and the template seemed pretty
tough. In fact if everything worked as figured it might even be a better
template. However, now I am confused as a "mace" rogue jumped me in the crater.
All things considered he was obviously a noob as he cheap shotted me and within
2 seconds he pulled a 1 or 2 bub kidney Punch.(wtf?) He did not kill me, but he
did come close, after I had vanished and bursted away, I stopped to examine the
combat log.(kick me in the ass as I should have taken SS's but was scared he was
still looking for me LOFL) I saw 2 "you are affected by mace stun" however both
of these left me before he got an attack in??? This is rather disapointing and
seems rather unfair. I saw "damage" "damage" "your are effected by mace stun"...
1 tick goes by... the mace stun ended and then more attacks came. I understand
that stun is subject to diminishing returns but after a cheap shot stun, and a
kidney punch stun, the mace stun only lasts .25 of a sec??? I was hoping to ask
some of you peeps to post some combat logs or ss's of an actual mace stun
lasting 3 secs. Do you not use the cheap shot and kidney punch until after you
get a couple mace stuns to avoid the bad returns? Also htf would Gouge work, as
mine is improved and lasts 5.5 secs, if I go mace and get a couple stuns off,
does gouge stun get nerfed also with less then the 5.5 secs? Although I agree
that you should not be able to totally chain stun in PvP, it should not be
stripped to .25 of a sec after a cheap shot and kidney punch is used.
Although this was only 1 combat example, I was starting to get really happy
about maybe making a mace rogue build.(and actually using it in end-game PvP)
But I cannot justify giving up 2, 100%, 5 point crit evis's, if Bliz is nerfing
the hell out of stun. I like the ability to disarm also but have limited
thoughts of this use considering that "wep chain" is becoming common.(although I
still don't think alot of peeps actually use it) I also noticed that since the
end skill needs 31 points, I would not be able to take either cold blood or
preperation.
So I guess what I am asking is for some of you mace peeps to tell me some combat
stories, not of how you won,(we learn nothing from winning everytime) but from
how you lost,. Another words what is the mace Rogue's weakness? Do you feel that
because of the stuns(that do work properly) this gives you the ability to kill
faster? Remeber "offensive" does not mean causing the greatest damge, it means
killing your opponent the quickest. These might sound like they go hand-in-hand,
but that is not always the case. One of the biggest probles I have with my Rogue
in PvP is everyone always wants to run away, if they are stunned once or twice
this would keep them still for a couple secs so that I can whack on them,
thereby lowering the time it takes me to kill them :)
I don't think that a mace rogue could out-damage a rogue getting 2 - 5 point
crit evis's off, but maybe that is a little over kill? I mean in PvE I cannot
even get the second crit evis off, as the mob is already dead, or so close to
death it would be a waste. Another plus is the adrenaline, as the only problem
with my rogue,(when there is a problem) is that I run out of energy, kind of
like a mage running out of mana, we are then about as usefull as a used
condom... A big minus to me though is, lets be honest, you have to take alot of
crappy skills to place 31 points in the combat tree. I still think a mace rogue
build could be better then my template, but i need more info. Do you peeps spam
riposte? I would, doing 150% wep damage for only 10 energy??? AND only 6 sec
cooldown? sigh... so many questions :)
