A lot of people aren't too sure about this new scourge thing so I'll summarize it here with reading + experience from today. Q: What is the invasion? a. If you zoom out to continent view on your map, you'll see areas "under attack". Each zone will have 3 floating necropolis in the sky. Each necropolis is sustained by 3 crystals on the ground. You must destroy all 3 crystals to bring a necropolis down. Bringing down all 3 necropolis liberates an area....only to be attacked again. Q. If the attack restarts, why should I do this? a. You get A LOT of AD rep (go from neutral to exaulted in a day). Also, the mobs drop scourgestones (even the highest rank scourgestones). Q. How do I destroy a crystal? a. If you notice, a crystal cannot be attacked and is surrounded by A LOT of undead mobs. Each mob you kill damages the crystal. It's speculated to take 100-300 kills per crystal. Although this seems like a lot, a good aoe group can do a crystal in 10 minutes. After the crystal is fully destroyed, 4 summoners appear. Speak to ONE SUMMONER at a time (by handing over 8 runes). The summoner will become an elite Doom mob. Kill it, and do the next one. You must kill all 4 quickly to destroy the crystal Q. What about "phat lootz" a. Ok, here's the fun part. There's 3 kinds of "Phat lootz" you can get. First of all, killing the undead gives you runes. These runes can be turned in Light's Hope Chapel for some basic items. Anything from the AD tabard to potions or +UD damage gear. The REAL "phat epix" comes from valor tokens. Valor tokens are those things you get by turning in scourgestones (even before the invasion/patch). You can "consume" the token for rep OR get items from it. How do you get items? Take the valor token to the human on a horse to the left of the chapel in LHC. If you turn in 1 token, you get a quest. These quests are to retrieve items and bring it back to him. The items are craftable and often cost a lot. Every quest you complete you get to pick from 1 type of insignia. Q. What do I do with the insignia to get phat lootz? a. Take the insignia to the quartermaster in LHC. How much insignias you use depends on your standing with AD. Let me give an example. Let's say you want the Supply Bag (18 slot bag). At revered it costs 16 insignias (thats 8 from each time). That means I have to complete a totel of SIXTEEN QUESTS using valor tokens. It turns out to be VERY VERY VERY expensive (especially on new servers). The ONLY thing I'm getting is the bag and moving on. Simply because you can't get 18 slotters except from Onyxia. It'll cost me a total of 14 tokens (waiting to get exhaulted) and quests. Q. When will the invasion end? a. No one knows. That guy who knows a guy who overheard a guy who knew when it ends...he doesn't. The invasion never ended on beta after WEEKS. Rumor is it'll end when kel'thuzad dies. Good luck with that.
