Hunt ogres!
You can start doing this as early as level 26-28 in Darkshire. In Darkshire
there is an Orge mound, and these Ogres drop silk like mad and a decent amount
of money for your level to boot!
I farmed up well over 200 silks there while i was power leveling. Then i moved
onto Arathi Highlands and hunted higher level orges on the mound there where
they dropped 2-3 silks at a time and farmed up like 600 silks.
If you're not a tailor when I checked AH on my server a stack of 20 was goin for
