As a rogue I was always confronted with the problem of killing hunters.
As a melee damage dealer the rogue has very poor damage output when it comes to
range. Bows are, at best, pulling instruments, then again there are better ways
to pull a MOB. Hunters however, have great ranged damage and are miserable at
short range.
The hunter’s advantage is that he can slow a target, run away, put stings on
you, slow you and slowly chip away your health. With a pet, it goes faster,
without it will take a while.
So how does a rogue easily kill a hunter? It’s easier than you might expect.
The answer is twofold:
1. Crippling Poison
2. Free Action Potion
The Crippling Poison slows him so he cannot get away from you, the free action
potion prevents him from slowing you. If Crippling does not immediately apply,
don’t worry, you still have sprint.
One thing you have to be aware of, Free Action Potion does not clear current
slowing effects, this potion prevents NEW slowing effects from being applied. A
warrior can still hamstring you to slow you, all other have no effect on you as
you become immune to them for 30 seconds.
If you opened with Cheap Shot, drink the potion just before CS wears off, if you
did another opener, drink it just after opening and hit that Slice and Dice to
raise your chance of applying that crippling poison. IMPORTANT! IGNORE THE PET!
I had a Hunter try to Wing Clip me 5 times in a row before he died.

P.S. I was tempted to write as an opener “This strategy works only for Alliance
Rogues†;P
